The Tourism and Travel Marketing Initiative is pleased to announce the 2020 TRAVEL PHOTO COMPETITION for photographers. Photographers are called upon to take their best tourism and travel photo and submit it by email in the highest resolution possible to photo@tourismicity.com via www.wetransfer.com
WHAT IS THE PHOTO COMPETITION ABOUT?
This challenge is about marketing Zambia’s TOURISM AND TRAVEL through captivating photos taken by photographers whether amateur or professional. The internet does not have enough travel photos showcasing Zambia’s different products in the tourism and travel sector. Through this competition, we wish to encourage marketing Zambia through photography.
WHAT CAN BE PHOTOGRAPHED
You can take photos of tourists, wildlife, lodges, hotels, restaurants, traditional ceremonies, heritage sites, waterfalls, adventure e.g. bungee, whitewater rafting, helicopter rides, quad biking, horse riding, game viewing, boat cruises, or a combination of some or more of this and more. Photos can be taken anywhere across Zambia and should be original content filmed by the entrant.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE?
Anyone is welcome to participate provided the photograph was taken by the entrant. Photography competition is part of the Tourism and Travel Awards as one of the most beneficial categories. To enter into this category a fee of K600 per entry is mandatory. Each entry can have 3 photos.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF PARTICIPATING?
- Participants will receive publicity and visibility through their photos to our growing online platform and paid reach of up to 20 million viewers online.
- Participants will also be effectively marketing Zambia to the world, and we hope to appeal to the patriotic element in all Zambian photographers to promote Zambia through their photography expertise and skills
HOW WILL THE WINNER BE CHOSEN?
Using an SMS shortcode, the public will be engaged to vote for their favorite photo. The photo with the most votes will be named the winner of the 2020 Travel Photo Competition at the Tourism and Travel Awards 2020 to be held on 1st August 2020 in Lusaka.
WHAT IS THE PRIZE FOR THE WINNER?
The winner of the 2020 Travel Photo Competition for photographers will receive a brand new Canon EOS 90D DSLR Camera worth US$1700
WHEN WILL THE PRIZE BE GIVEN?
The prize will be delivered at the Tourism and Travel Awards, a prestigious event that will be held on 1st August 2020 to be attended by the Head of State, the diplomatic community, the local and international tourism and travel sector, the general public as well as the media. The event will be live on national television as well as be streamed live online and promoted to over 20 million viewers globally.
